Addresses your emails won't go to
Some addresses should never get your marketing emails again: the customer who marked one as spam, a mailbox that no longer exists, someone who asked you not to write. Iraca keeps track of them for you, so you never have to remember. You'll find the list under Marketing → Suppressions.
How addresses get on the list
Most addresses are added for you, as soon as the recipient's mail server tells Iraca what happened:
| Shown as | What happened | Who it applies to |
|---|---|---|
| Marked as spam | The recipient reported one of your emails as spam. | Your business only |
| Unsubscribed | The recipient unsubscribed, from the link in one of your emails or their mailbox's own Unsubscribe button. See How customers unsubscribe. | Your business only |
| Kept bouncing | Several of your emails to the address were turned back, for example because the mailbox was full. | Your business only |
| Added by you | Someone on your team added the address by hand. | Your business only |
| Mailbox doesn't exist | The receiving mail server said the mailbox doesn't exist. | Every business on Iraca |
A spam report only stops your emails to that person. They complained about you, not about every business that uses Iraca.
A mailbox that doesn't exist is different: it doesn't exist for anyone. Email to dead addresses makes mailbox providers trust the sender less, and many businesses share Iraca's marketing domain, so Iraca stops every business from emailing that address.
"Kept bouncing" means three of your emails to the same address were turned back within 30 days. One full mailbox on a busy day isn't enough to stop your emails.
The two lists
The page has two tabs:
- Your list: spam reports, addresses that kept bouncing, and addresses you added.
- Bounced everywhere: your contacts whose mailbox no longer exists. You only see addresses that are in your own contacts.
Use the search box to find an address. Type any part of it.
Adding an address yourself
If a customer asks you in person or on the phone not to email them, add them so you don't email them by mistake:
- Under Add an address, type the email address.
- Click Add.
Only owners and admins can add or remove addresses. Everyone on your team can see the list.
Removing an address
You can only remove addresses you added yourself. Click the bin icon next to the address, then Remove.
The other addresses show a lock instead. A spam report or a mailbox that doesn't exist came from the recipient or their mail server. Emailing them anyway is what gets email accounts blocked, so they can't be removed from this page.
Removing an address doesn't mean that person gets your emails right away. They still have to have agreed to receive them.
Exporting the list
Click Export CSV to download both lists as a spreadsheet, for example to keep your own records or to use with another email tool. Each row says which list it's on (tenant for yours, platform for addresses that bounced everywhere).
