Choosing Which Warehouses a Channel Sells From
If you keep stock in more than one warehouse, you can decide which of them each marketplace connection sells from. Iraca uses that choice in two places: the stock level it sends to the marketplace, and the warehouse it takes a new order's stock from.
Most businesses never need this. The default is "All warehouses", and it changes nothing about how your account works today.
Where to find it
Go to Integrations, open the connection's Configure window, and scroll to the Warehouses card. Owners and admins can change it.
All warehouses (the default)
- The stock level sent to the marketplace adds up every warehouse except the quarantine one.
- Orders are taken from your default warehouse, as they always have been.
Choosing specific warehouses
Turn off All warehouses to build your own list.
- Add the warehouses this channel should sell from.
- Use the up and down arrows to put them in order. The first warehouse is tried first.
- Press Save warehouses.
Once you save a list:
- Stock sent to this channel counts only the warehouses on the list. A product with 40 units in your main warehouse and 10 in another shows 40 on a channel that only uses the main one.
- Orders are taken from the first warehouse on the list that can fill the whole order. If the first can't cover every item, Iraca tries the second, and so on. It never splits one order across warehouses.
- Iraca re-sends this channel's stock levels right after you save, so the marketplace catches up without waiting for the next change.
Tip: Put your busiest warehouse first. The order of the list only matters when more than one warehouse could fill an order.
The fallback warehouse
Sometimes no warehouse on the list can fill an order by itself. The fallback warehouse decides where that order goes anyway, so the shortfall shows up in the place you expect and you can fix it there.
- Pick any warehouse from your list.
- Leave it on None and the order goes to the first warehouse on the list.
The fallback only picks where the order waits. It doesn't create stock. You still need to receive or move stock, or fulfil the order from a different warehouse, before it can ship.
Quarantine stock is never sold
Stock in a quarantine warehouse is never counted toward what a marketplace is told, whichever option you use. It can't be added to a channel's list either.
You may notice a change: before this option existed, quarantine stock was included in the number some channels received. It no longer is, so a listing can show a lower number than it used to if you keep items in quarantine.
See which channels use a warehouse
The Warehouses page has a Used by column. For each warehouse it shows the channels that sell from it and, if you've set up routing rules, which regions send their orders there. Everyone on your team can see it.
Changing an order's warehouse yourself
If you set an order's warehouse by hand, Iraca leaves it alone. It only chooses the warehouse for orders that nobody has assigned, and it stops once an order is on a pick list or has moved past Confirmed.
