Business profile: how you sell
Tell Iraca how your business sells and it puts the screens you use most at the top of your sidebar. A wholesaler sees Orders, Finance and Purchasing first; a marketplace seller sees Integrations and Inventory first; a caterer sees Production and Orders first. Nothing is hidden: only the order changes.
You'll find it in Settings → Business profile. Owners and admins can open and change it.
Where your profile comes from
You don't have to fill anything in to get started. Iraca works your profile out for you:
- From your setup answers. What you told the setup assistant about where you sell, who you sell to and whether you make what you sell.
- From what's already in your account, if you skipped the setup assistant or your business is older than it: a marketplace connection, a price list for a customer, register sales in the last 90 days, a recipe, and so on.
The line at the top of the page tells you which one it used. Until someone saves the page, Iris's plan shows owners and admins Check how Iraca is arranged for you, so a sidebar that moved never comes as a surprise.
Once you save, your choice is the one Iraca uses. It never changes it on its own afterwards.
Quick picks
The chips at the top are shortcuts. Each one turns on the switches that usually go with it:
| Quick pick | Turns on |
|---|---|
| Marketplace seller | Sells on marketplaces |
| Online store | Has its own online store |
| Wholesale / distributor | Sells wholesale |
| Maker | Makes what it sells |
| Caterer | Caters events, Makes what it sells, Works with food |
| Meal prep | Runs meal prep, Makes what it sells, Works with food, Delivers locally |
| Food truck & markets | Sells in person, Makes what it sells, Works with food |
| Shop with a counter | Sells in person |
Pick as many as fit. A food truck that also caters and sells sauce on Amazon can pick Food truck & markets, Caterer and Marketplace seller together. Tapping a picked chip again turns its switches off, except the ones another picked chip still needs.
The switches
The switches are what Iraca saves. Turn on everything that applies:
- Sells in person: at a counter, a market stall or a register.
- Caters events: from a menu, with guest counts and event dates.
- Runs meal prep: customers order from a weekly menu before a cutoff.
- Sells wholesale: to other businesses on terms.
- Sells on marketplaces: Amazon, Walmart, Etsy or TikTok Shop.
- Has its own online store: your own website, Shopify or WooCommerce.
- Makes what it sells: you turn supplies into products with recipes or production runs.
- Delivers locally: you deliver orders yourself, on your own routes.
- Works with food: you make or sell food and keep food labels and safety records.
When more than one switch wants to move a section up, the screens you use every day come first (selling in person, catering, meal prep, wholesale, marketplaces, your online store, making) and compliance screens follow.
The preview
Your sidebar will start with shows the first five sections in the order your switches give, and it updates as you flip them. Sections you haven't switched on in Settings → Modules, or don't have the add-on for, are skipped in the real sidebar, so yours may start a little further down the list.
Inside a section, and in the short menu
A few links also move up inside their section: Point of Sale when you sell in person, Menus when you cater, Menu cycles when you run meal prep, and Dispatch when you deliver locally.
If you use the short menu (before Show everything), your profile can add up to two of these links to it, so the screen you'll set up first is right there:
| Switch | Link it adds |
|---|---|
| Sells in person | Point of Sale |
| Caters events | Menus |
| Runs meal prep | Menu cycles |
| Sells wholesale | Invoices |
| Sells on marketplaces | Marketplaces |
| Makes what it sells | Production |
| Delivers locally | Dispatch |
When more than two switches are on, the first two in the order above win. A link only shows when you already have that screen (for example, Invoices needs the Invoicing & Bookkeeping add-on, and Marketplaces shows once you've joined one). A link shown in the short menu isn't repeated under More.
On your dashboard
Your profile also picks the six number tiles on the Dashboard and the chart that comes first under them:
| Switch | Tiles it adds | Chart that comes first |
|---|---|---|
| Sells on marketplaces | Open orders, Units in stock, Sales by channel | Sales by channel |
| Sells wholesale | Open orders, Money owed to you, Open quotes | Money owed to you |
| Sells in person | Today's register sales, Open orders | Revenue |
| Makes what it sells | In production, Recipes, Supplies | Production |
| Caters events | Events this week, Open orders | Revenue |
| Runs meal prep | This cycle's orders, Deliveries today | Orders trend |
Tiles are filled in the same order as the sidebar, each one once, up to six; if your switches add fewer, the standard tiles fill the rest. A tile only shows when you have its screen: Money owed to you and Open quotes need Invoicing & Bookkeeping, Today's register sales needs Point of Sale, Events this week and This cycle's orders need Menus switched on, and Deliveries today needs Local Delivery. If your team role can't open a screen, its tile is skipped too, and the next one takes its place. Tap a tile to open its screen.
The chart that comes first is the first switch's in that same order; Money owed to you leads only with Invoicing & Bookkeeping, otherwise Revenue does. With every switch off, you get the standard tiles and Revenue first.
On the I want to… page
Your profile also decides which groups come first on I want to…:
| Switch | Groups it puts first |
|---|---|
| Sells on marketplaces | Sell, then Stock |
| Sells wholesale | Get paid and keep the books |
| Sells in person | Sell |
| Makes what it sells | Make |
| Caters events | Sell |
The rest follow in the standard order. Only the groups move: every task stays in its group, in the same place, and Iris suggests still comes from Iris's plan for you. With every switch off, you get the standard order.
Saving
Tap Save. Everyone in your business sees the same order: the profile belongs to the business, not to one person. Each person still chooses for themselves whether to see the short menu or Show everything.
Undo changes puts the switches back to what's saved. If Iraca worked your profile out and it's already right, just tap Save: that keeps it and clears the item from Iris's plan.
Turning every switch off is fine too: your sidebar goes back to the standard order.
What it doesn't change
- Nothing is hidden. Your modules, add-ons, plan and team roles still decide which screens you have. Every screen stays in the sidebar, under Show everything and in the search box (Ctrl+K, ⌘K on a Mac).
- Nothing is renamed. An order is still an order, whatever you sell.
- Your setup answers, modules and add-ons stay as they are.
