Your plan with Iris

After the setup assistant, Iris stays with you on the dashboard with Iris's plan for you: one card that says what to do next, in order, and why it matters for your business. It replaces the old welcome tutorial, the Get started checklist, the blue tips and the Talk to Iraca card. One guide, one place, one memory.

What's on it

The plan is worked out from what you told Iris in the setup assistant and from what is actually in your account. A bakery that ships orders and sells on Amazon gets a different plan from a wholesaler that invoices on credit.

Items come from a few places:

  • Unfinished setup. If you skipped the assistant, or records Iris found are still waiting for your yes or no, those come first.
  • How Iraca is arranged for you. Owners and admins see Check how Iraca is arranged for you until someone saves the business profile or hides the item.
  • The services that earn you money. Connecting Stripe to get paid by card, shipping your first order, sending your first invoice, confirming your email sending address, setting up local delivery, and trying Talk to Iraca. Which ones you see depends on your answers: nobody is asked to set up shipping who said they don't ship.
  • The basics. Your first product, location, stock, recipe (if you make what you sell), contacts and order; and connecting each marketplace you said you sell on.
  • Your retail food license. Caterers, meal prep businesses, and food businesses that sell in person (a shop, a food truck, a market stall) see Add your retail food license. A shop that doesn't sell food isn't asked. It ticks once a retail food license is in Licenses and permits; an archived one doesn't count.
  • Add-ons you have but haven't opened yet.
  • Routine jobs. Counting your stock when it has been a while, and closing last month in the first days of the new one.

Iris says one line about the top item. Under it, the three most useful things to do next, each with a short reason. Show all lists the rest.

Opening an item

Each item has a button:

  • Start opens a guided setup with Iris for that job. See "I want to…": everything you can do.
  • Resume picks up a guided setup you left unfinished.
  • Open takes you to the screen where you do it by hand, for items that don't have a guided setup yet.

Items marked Recommended come straight from your answers in the setup assistant.

How an item gets ticked

An item is done when the thing is done, never when you click past it. Your first product ticks itself when a product exists; Connect Stripe ticks when Stripe can take card payments; a marketplace ticks when it's connected. Finishing a guided setup doesn't tick an item on its own either: the data does.

Done items fold into a count, 4 done, with the list behind Show all. Iris says so when your basics are all in place, and again when everything on the plan is done.

Not now

The × on an item hides it for 30 days, for you only; your teammates still see it, and it comes back if it still applies. Hiding Talk to Iraca from your AI assistant is permanent, as the old card was; you can always find it under Settings → Talk to Iraca.

The arrow at the top-right of the card folds it to one line, so your figures move up. It stays folded on every device until you open it again. The card is never gone for good: there is nothing to turn back on.

If you closed the old Get started checklist with Don't show again, your plan starts folded.

Where it sits on your dashboard

Your dashboard reads top to bottom in order of what needs you:

  1. Needs your attention, when something is waiting on someone (a bill to approve, a quote that lapsed, stock in quarantine). It is not there when nothing is waiting.
  2. Iris's plan for you.
  3. Your trial days and any FDA registration reminder.
  4. Low stock and your compliance cards.
  5. The counts: products, supplies, open orders and so on.
  6. Your figures: revenue, sales by channel, orders, top products, with the date range above them.

Until your first sales order there is nothing to chart, so the figures are one line, "Your figures will appear here once you have orders", and the date range is hidden. They appear on their own with your first order.

On the right, I want to… comes first and Insights after it.

Who sees what

Everyone on the team sees the plan, but only the items they have permission for. A teammate who can't manage settings won't see Connect Stripe; someone who can't buy labels won't see Ship your first order. Owners see everything.

This guide covers the Iraca app and its add-ons. The Iraca Marketplace is documented separately.
