Your marketing sender

Before you email your customers from Iraca, set up your sender: the name your customers see in their inbox, the address the email comes from, and where their replies go. You'll find it under Marketing → Sender.

What your customers will see

The top of the page shows how every marketing email you send will arrive:

  • From: your business name, and an address like your-business@iracamail.com.
  • Reply-To: your own email address, where your customers' replies go.
  • Footer: your business's postal address, which the law requires at the bottom of every marketing email.

You don't need to set up anything technical. Iraca sends from its own marketing domain, iracamail.com, which is already set up so mailbox providers like Gmail and Outlook trust it.

Why the address isn't something you type

The address your email comes from is made from your business's name in Iraca, for example alpha-bakery@iracamail.com. You can't type a different one. Many businesses send from iracamail.com, so this is what stops anyone sending email that pretends to come from someone else.

The address is fixed after your first email goes out. Changing it later would confuse your customers' inboxes and filters.

Nobody reads mail sent to that address. Your customers' replies go to your reply-to address instead.

Your sender name

This is the name your customers see in their inbox. It starts as your business name. To use something else, type it under Sender name and click Save. Leave it blank to go back to your business name.

Your reply-to address

Replies from your customers go to your reply-to address. It starts as your business email from Settings, but you can change it.

Before you can send, you confirm the address:

  1. Make sure the address under Reply-to address is right. If you change it, click Save.
  2. Click Email me a code. Iraca emails a 6-digit code to that address.
  3. Type the code and click Confirm.

The code expires after 10 minutes. If it doesn't arrive, check your spam folder, or click Send a new code.

We ask for the code so replies can only go to an inbox you actually control. If you change the address later, you'll need to confirm the new one before you can send again.

Send a test

Under Send a test, click Send a test to me. Iraca sends a short test email to you only, from your sender, so you can:

  • see how it looks in a real inbox, and
  • reply to it, to check that replies reach your reply-to address.

The button is greyed out until everything at the top of the page is sorted out.

If you can't send yet

The box at the top of the page lists anything that's stopping you:

Who can change the sender

Owners and admins can change the sender name and reply-to address, confirm the reply-to address and send a test. Everyone else on your team can see the page but can't change anything.

How much you can send

New senders start with a low daily limit that grows as you keep sending, and a business whose emails draw too many spam complaints is paused. See How much you can send.

This guide covers the Iraca app and its add-ons. The Iraca Marketplace is documented separately.
