Connecting a Channel with Iris

Connecting a store or marketplace is the setup where a mistake costs the most: a wrong match or a wrong stock number can oversell you within the hour. Connect a channel walks you through it in four short acts, and nothing goes out to the marketplace until you tap the button that says so.

You'll find it on the Integrations page, as Connect a channel, and on the I want to… page. The platform cards below it stay, if you'd rather do it by hand. Owners and admins can run it; everyone else can read it.

The four acts

1. Connect

  1. Which channel? Pick Amazon, Walmart, Shopify, WooCommerce, Etsy or TikTok. If your plan has no room for another channel, Iris says so here, before asking for anything.
  2. Sign in. Paste your keys, or sign in with the platform (Shopify and TikTok bring you back to the same step). Connecting only reads your recent orders. No stock is changed.
  3. Checking the connection. Iris reads the last 90 days of orders to see which products they use. If the platform refused the read, Iris tells you in plain words and offers Try again. It never calls a refused read a success.

2. Match

  1. Products Iris found. How many are matched, how many are still to match, and how many orders are held on them. Match by SKU matches any product whose SKU is the same on both sides.
  2. Match the rest. For each product Iris didn't recognize, pick the product in Iraca, create it with a tap, or skip it. Iris never creates a product on its own. See Mapping Products to Marketplace Listings.
  3. Several listings, one product. Shown only when a product has more than one listing on the channel. Exactly one of them tells the channel your stock; if two did, the channel would be told the full stock twice. You choose which.

3. Stock

  1. Where it ships from. Choose which warehouses count toward the stock this channel is told. All your warehouses is the default. See Choosing which warehouses a channel sells from.
  2. Routing by destination. Optional, and shown only with two or more warehouses. You can skip it. See Routing orders to a warehouse.
  3. What we'll tell the channel. One row per listing: what you have, what you could make, what's committed to open orders, what it would be told, and what limits it. For Amazon you also see its current quantity and the change, and a Check with Amazon button that asks Amazon to validate the numbers (it only runs when you press it). Warnings, such as a listing that would drop to zero, appear in words. Nothing has been sent.

4. Go live

  1. Review. The channel, how many products are matched and skipped, the warehouses, whether routing is on, and how many listings and units the channel would be told.
  2. Go live, in two taps.
    • Activate lets orders from the channel come in without being held. It is refused while products are still waiting to be matched, with the same message the Integrations page gives. Orders held on a product are released as that product is matched.
    • Turn on stock sync appears after Activate. Only this tells the channel your stock. After it, press Push now, or wait for the next scheduled push.
    • Not ready for stock? Choose Orders only for now. You can still finish, and you can turn stock sync on later in the channel's Configure window.

Finish only marks the setup done. It sends nothing and changes no setting.

Reviewing a channel you already have

Open a connection's Configure window and choose Review with Iris. The setup starts at Match, so you can check the matches, stock and the numbers again without connecting anything.

Starting over

Start over removes the connection only if this setup made it and nothing uses it yet. A channel that already has orders, matched products, or that you have switched on stays connected, and so does every setting you changed. Iris tells you why it stayed.

Good to know

  • A new connection starts with stock sync off. Nothing about your stock reaches the marketplace until you turn it on yourself.
  • The numbers in the preview are the same ones the next push would send. See How Marketplace Sync Works.
  • Leave at any point with Save and finish later. See "I want to…": everything you can do.

This guide covers the Iraca app and its add-ons. The Iraca Marketplace is documented separately.
