Ask Iris: go anywhere, ask anything
Press Ctrl+K (⌘K on a Mac) on any screen, or click Search or ask at the top of the menu on the left (on a phone, the magnifying glass at the top of the page). One box opens. Type the name of a screen to go there, or ask a question about your business and Iris looks the answer up for you.
Go to a task or a screen
Start typing and the box lists what matches:
- Tasks: every task on the I want to… page, by its name or the everyday words for it. ship a pack finds Ship a package, count finds Count my stock, new order finds Enter an order. A task opens exactly where its card on that page would: Iris's guide while you haven't finished it, the run you left open, or the screen.
- Screens, by the same names as the sidebar: orders, products, invoices, reports.
- Label for 1042 opens order 1042, where you buy or print its label.
Use the arrow keys and Enter, or click one. You only see tasks and screens your plan includes and your role can open.
Words can be in any order and partly typed: new ord finds Enter an order.
To see everything you can do in one place, grouped by goal, open Everything you can do on the dashboard's I want to… card. See "I want to…": everything you can do. When a search there finds nothing, its Ask Iris button opens this box with what you typed.
Ask a question
Anything that isn't a screen becomes a question. Pick Ask Iris at the bottom of the list (when no screen matches it's the only line, so Enter asks) and Iris answers. When the box is empty it suggests three questions to try.
Iris can answer questions about:
- Sales: how much you sold over a period, by product, customer, channel or day, and your top customers.
- Orders: orders by status, date or channel, and a single order by its number.
- Products and stock: finding products, what's running low, and what your inventory is worth.
- What you're owed: what each customer owes and how late, and customers who are overdue or over their credit limit.
- Profit: profit and loss for a period, and a summary of how the business is doing.
- What needs attention today.
The answer is laid out as a table straight from your data, the same figures the matching screen shows. Iris only picks which lookup answers your question; she doesn't write the numbers or the wording. If a list is long, the box shows the first part and says so; open the screen for the rest.
You see only what your role can see on screen. If you ask about something your role or your plan doesn't include (sales figures, for example, are for owners and admins on plans with reports), Iris says so instead of answering.
Continue the conversation
To ask a follow-up, click Continue with Iris under the answer. The chat panel opens with your question and its answer already in it, so and the month before? just works. See Chat with Iris.
It never changes anything
Ask Iris only reads. It can't create, edit or delete anything, send anything or call anyone, whatever the question says. To make a change, use Go to and do it on the screen.
Your questions aren't stored
What you type is sent to the AI model that picks the lookup and is not saved anywhere in Iraca: not in your account, not in the activity feed, not in our logs. Iraca keeps only which lookup was used, so we can see which questions are useful.
Daily limit
Each business can ask a fair number of questions a day. If you reach the limit, the box says so; Go to keeps working, and questions are back the next day.
The same questions from Claude or ChatGPT
Below each answer there's a link to Talk to Iraca, the add-on that lets you ask the same questions from your own Claude or ChatGPT, in a conversation, wherever you are. See Talk to Iraca. If your business already has it, the link isn't shown.
