Which Orders Go on Delivery Routes
Settings → Local delivery → Which orders go on routes decides, channel by channel, whether an order becomes a local delivery or ships as a parcel. It's part of the Local Delivery add-on.
Every channel you sell through is listed: manual orders, your customer portal, and each connected store or marketplace. Each has one setting.
| Setting | What happens | Available for |
|---|---|---|
| Off | Orders from this channel never go on routes | Every channel |
| Staff decides | An order goes on a route only when someone on your team marks it Local delivery | Manual orders |
| Customer decides | An order goes on a route when the customer chose local delivery at checkout | Customer portal, WooCommerce and your online store |
| All in-zone orders | Every order whose address is inside one of your delivery zones goes on a route. Orders outside every zone ship as usual | Manual orders, customer portal, WooCommerce and Shopify |
Until you change anything, manual orders are Staff decides, the customer portal is Customer decides, and your online stores are Off. Nothing starts going on routes without you choosing it.
Marketplaces are always off
Amazon, Walmart, TikTok and Etsy orders are listed but locked to Off. The marketplace ships those orders through its own carriers and expects its own tracking number back, so they can't go on your van. Point of sale sales don't appear here at all: they leave the store with the customer.
Letting customers choose
On the customer portal, Customer decides puts the choice in the customer's cart: local delivery or shipping, a window or day, and the fee. See Local delivery at checkout.
On a WooCommerce store, Customer decides works with the free Iraca Connector plugin, which lists your delivery windows among the store's shipping options. See Local delivery at your WooCommerce checkout. Without the plugin, no choice arrives with the order, and it's left for your team to decide.
Using "All in-zone orders" for a website
All in-zone orders puts every website order to an address in your delivery area on a route, and gives it the next open window or delivery day automatically. Orders from further away still ship as parcels. It's the way to use local delivery on a Shopify store, which has no checkout plugin, or on a WooCommerce store without one. With the plugin installed, a window the shopper picked at checkout is kept.
An imported order is only sorted once, when it first arrives. If you change it by hand afterwards, the next sync from your store leaves your change alone.
ASAP delivery
The manual row (orders you enter) and the customer portal row each have an Offer ASAP delivery switch. It's off until you turn it on, it needs the channel itself to be on, and it also needs the customer's zone to offer ASAP. Marketplaces and store checkouts can't offer it. See ASAP delivery.
Changing one order
Your team can always override the channel on a single order, in either direction, from the Delivery card on the order screen: put an order from an Off channel on a route (a website customer who called to ask), or take one off a route and ship it instead. See Local delivery orders.
